The name “Landa” was created by combining the initials of the founders’ first names—Lawrence and Alice. In Chinese, the name “Er Tong”(耳通) was created with a meticulous consideration of Chinese anthroponymy, which takes into account a character’s strokes, pronunciation, and original meaning.

Landa Hearing Center, established in 1992, was the first hearing aid center founded independently by audiologists in the New York Chinese community. From the first day, we have been providing patients assistance in Chinese. This is especially helpful to elderly Chinese patients, as they are able to communicate their problems in their native language and find a suitable hearing aid.
Landa Hearing Center’s first clinic was at the Wing Fat Mansion in Chinatown. In 2010, we moved to the Golden Wheel Medical Building, 139 Centre St., where it is currently located. Our second clinic is in Flushing. It started out at the Golden Shopping Mall, before relocating to Sanford Tower. Finally, in 2008, we moved to Queens Crossing, where it currently stands. For many years, Landa Hearing Center was the first hearing aid center founded independently by audiologists in the New York Chinese community. Over time, we’ve gained our patients’ trust and developed a reputation for being sincere, patient, and equality.
Nowadays, our patients are not limited to Chinese Americans. In our waiting rooms, you will see people representing different ethnic groups of the community. For instance, in our Flushing clinic, we accept patients from various races and ethnicities including Korean, Indian, Hispanic, Mid-eastern, White, African, and Chinese. etc.
It’s our greatest pleasure to have the trust of our clients. At Landa Hearing Center, we ensure that clients feel as though they are treated equally and genuinely.
